Physique Readiness Coach ™

USA Physique is a husband and wife physique coaching duo. As both IFBB Pros and NPC Judges, Chet and Natalie noticed that the field of contest prep coaching focused primarily on the next show rather than the competitor’s ultimate goal. That type of narrow-minded coaching resulted in competitors showing little to no improvement in their physiques as they compete show after show, year after year. The philosophy behind Physique Readiness Coaching takes a bird’s eye view of a competitor’s career ensuring that every contest is purposeful and productive in the ultimate quest. Physique Readiness Coaching starts with the competitor’s offseason plan and continues through their contest prep plan, peak week plan, contest day plan, stage strategy plan, and reverse diet plan with the ultimate goal always in mind. .

Chet and Natalie take the burden off the competitors’ shoulders of strategizing and planning. Chet and Natalie carry that load for them and develop their competitors into elite athletes, upholding USA Physique’s high standards. Because of their unique experience from both sides of the sport of bodybuilding, Chet and Natalie saw a need for a more complete and strategic approach to contest preparation and thus Physique Readiness Coaching™ was born.

As IFBB Pros and NPC Judges, Chet and Natalie Nichols noticed that the field of contest prep coaching focused primarily on the next show rather than the competitor’s ultimate goal. This lack of a clear and defined strategy resulted in many competitors competing in back to back shows where Chet and Natalie judged, year after year, showing little to no improvement in their physiques. This unfortunately left many highly ambitious competitors miles from their ultimate goals and uncertain of what needed to be done to increase their placing. The problem was not that these competitors lacked the motivation, they simply lacked a clear and concise plan of action with an ultimate end goal in mind. Through their love for the sport of bodybuilding, their unique experience, education, training, coaching, and achievements, Chet and Natalie Nichols created the concept of a Physique Readiness Coach™.

It did not take long for others in the industry to notice. Joe Klemczewski Ph.D. was one such individual. “Dr. Joe” is no stranger to raising the bar in Bodybuilding. Dr. Joe created Flexible Dieting and Reverse Dieting back in the 90’s. He was also the pioneer who put an end to water depletion in an effort to keep clients hydrated and full. He has worked with over 400 Pros, many Olympians and one of the most influential leaders in the Bodybuilding world. Dr. Joe refers to Chet and Natalie as “generational leaders” and was so impressed with their vision that he expanded his 5 Phases of Contest and included the 5 Phase of Offseason based on Chet and Natalie’s observations and strategic planning. The three teamed up together and released the 5 Phases of Offseason and 5 Phases of Contest prep E-book.

PHYSIQUE READINESS COACHING™

Physique Readiness Coaching™ is a continuous improvement methodology that includes specific focus on linear incremental improvements over time to optimize the development of the competitor, based on the competitor’s Workout Programming and Nutrition Plan.  The methodology is based on a modified version of the Continuous Process Improvement Model’s four-step Quality Assurance method, the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle:

The modified version is as follows with the competitors ultimate goal in mind:

  • Plan:  Identify strengths and weaknesses and plan for change
  • Do:  Implement change on a small, yet specific incremental scale
  • Check:  Use gathered data to analyze results
  • Act:  Adjust as necessary

The cycle repeats on a continual basis.

PHYSIQUE READINESS AWARENESS™

Physique Readiness Awareness™ planning must include all factors that affect the competitors daily and competition performance and allow both coach and athlete to identify, discuss, understand, and execute all factors to include, but not limited to: GOALS (big/small, short-/long-term), AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT (balance, symmetry, conditioning, posing), RESOURCES (time, financial, support), ROLES (athlete, coach, family, friends, co-workers), and EXPECTATIONS (athlete, coach, family).

PHYSIQUE READINESS PLAN™

A well-designed, well-communicated Physique Readiness Plan™ will promote significant improvement in the athlete’s physique through adherence, commitment and mental capacity/stamina while raising the bar of performance and longevity. A solid strategy includes realistic expectations and syncs both coach and competitor resulting in overall competitor success.
